Child marriage remains a pervasive crisis in Nigeria, robbing millions of girls of their childhood, education, and future. Yet, when 100 civil society organizations (CSOs) unite under a shared vision, their collective strength becomes an unstoppable force for change.
Why the Collective Matters
A single voice can spark awareness, but 100 voices create a movement. As a coalition, we amplify our impact through:
- Unified Advocacy: Together, we speak with one resounding voice to policymakers, demanding stronger laws, enforcement, and accountability.
- Amplified Reach: With members spanning grassroots NGOs, legal experts, educators, and faith-based groups, we bridge urban and rural divides, reaching communities where child marriage is most entrenched.
- Shared Resources: Pooling expertise, data, and strategies allows us to tackle root causes—poverty, gender inequality, and cultural norms—with holistic solutions.
- Solidarity in Resistance: In the face of resistance, our unity protects and empowers local activists, ensuring no member stands alone.
Our Collective Wins
- Policy Influence: the coalition have carried out a policy analysis on policies that addresses child marriage and members can support the process by downloading the document on our website and spread . Our members weee part of the recent milestone achievement in Bauchi state that just passed the law that establishes Padbanks in all primary schools, secondary schools and correctional facilities in the state . Our members in the states are also monitoring the implementation of the Child Rights Laws in the states.
- Community Empowerment: Collaborative workshops educate families on girls’ rights, health risks, and the value of education.
The Road Ahead
Child marriage thrives in silence and fragmentation. But as a coalition of 100, we turn fragmentation into synergy. Every member brings unique strengths—whether legal aid, community trust, or advocacy prowess—creating a tapestry of resilience.
In Unity, We Rise
Alone, we are strong. Together, we are unstoppable. Let’s harness the power of 100 to end child marriage—one girl, one community, one law at a time.
